Science Café Cleveland

SCC LogoScience Café Cleveland is an opportunity for members of the public to learn more about science and scientific research in a fun and informal atmosphere of good food, good beer, and good conversation. It takes place on the second Monday evening of every month. For many years, it met at the Tasting Room  at Great Lakes Brewing Co. in Ohio City (Cleveland). We now meet in the concert hall at Music Box Supper Club in the West Bank area of the Flats. It is organized by the Case Western Reserve University chapter of Sigma Xi, and was started by several other members and me back in April of 2007. Science cafés can be found throughout the world, though their format varies significantly from place to place. Each Science Café Cleveland starts with a brief (10-minute) introduction to the topic by our expert(s); the remainder of the hour is spent discussing questions posed by the audience.
